George Cayton

George Richard "Ricky" Cayton, 62, of Carrollton, KY, died on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at his residence in Carrollton, KY.

He was born on June 21, 1953 in Carroll County, KY, the son of the late Vane and Martha Jane Lee Cayton. He had served as Carroll County Sheriff for many years and retired from the Carroll County Sheriff's Department. He had previously worked at the Kentucky State Reformatory, the Carrollton Police Department and the Carroll County Sheriff's Department. He was a Apprentice Auctioneer for New's Auction Service in Carrollton. He had served in the Army National Guard. He was a member of the American Legion Post #41 in Carrollton and a former member of the Carrollton Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife Debbie Sutherland Cayton of Carrollton, KY, a daughter, Rachel Cayton of Carrollton, KY, a grandson, Brack Cayton-Wright of Carrollton, KY, two brothers, Bill and Ronnie Cayton, both of Carrollton, KY, and a sister, Peggy Swister of Lebanon, KY.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vane and Martha Jane Lee Cayton.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Gifts are suggested to the King's Daughters' Hospital Cancer Center in care of the funeral home.

Arrangements are entrusted with the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.

Visitation

A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 P.M.- 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at the Family Worship Center in Carrollton.

Funeral

A Memorial Service will be on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at 6:00 P.M. at the Family Worship Center in Carrollton with the Rev. Joe Kindoll officiating the service and a Eulogy given by Harold "Shorty" Tomlinson.

Interment

Burial will be private.
