Freddie C. Earls, 84, died on Sunday, March 7, 2015 at the Thomason-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore, KY.
Freddie was born in Ghent, Carroll County, KY to the late Clarence W. and Alma Breeden Earls. He died Saturday at the Thomas Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore, KY. He was a member of the Ghent Baptist Church and a retired foreman at Butler (formerly Eison Brothers Furniture Co.) Furniture Company in Carrollton, KY. He was a member of the American legion Post #41 in Carrollton, a Kentucky Colonel, member of the Blind Veterans Association and enjoyed listening to music and the U.K. Wildcats, sitting on his deck and traveling. He was a member of the US Army in Korea Conflict from February 14, 1952 until August 31, 1953. In April 1953 he was struck and injured by a mortar, causing the loss of his sight.
He is survived by his daughter; Charlotte (Tom) Unker of Carrollton, KY and his son; Dennis (Louise) Earls of Frankfort, KY, a step-daughter; Teresa (Mark) Sanders of Warsaw, KY, two sisters; Edna Kring of Jeffersonville, KY and Sandra Horine of Carrollton, KY, two brothers; Roger Earle of Carrollton, KY and Riley Earle of Carrollton, KY, 4 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and 2 step-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife; Ardith R. Burgess Earls whom he married on June 16, 1951 and she died on January 11, 1988, his second wife, Brenda Adams Earls, whom he married on July 14, 1989 and she died on September 7, 2008, four sisters; Christine Earls, Mary Smith, Martha Hunter and Estelle Walls, three brothers; Walton Earls, Same Earle and Raymond Earle.
Mr. Larry Perry conducted the funeral service on Thursday, March 7, 2015 at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home. Burial was in the Ghent Masonic Cemetery in Ghent, KY
