Flora Jean Richmond

Flora Jean Richmond,  passed away on September 2, 2025, in Carrollton, Kentucky, at the age of 72. Born on May 3, 1953, in La Grange, Kentucky, Flora was a testament to the strength and resilience that life demands, both in her professional career and her personal endeavors.

Flora was a dedicated Manager at Chevron, where she honed her skills and became a respected presence among her colleagues. Her commitment to her work was matched only by her devotion to her family and friends, who will remember her warmth and kindness.

Flora was an active member of Dividing Ridge Apostolic Church, where she found joy and fulfillment in her faith, connecting with a community that shared her beliefs and values. Her spiritual life was an integral part of who she was, providing her with a strong foundation and much-loved companionship.

In her leisure time, Flora found delight in crocheting, a hobby that allowed her creativity to shine. She took immense joy in caring for her two dogs, Tutu and Sassy, who brought happiness and companionship into her life.

Flora leaves behind a loving family that includes her aunt, Lynn (George) Horine of Bedford, KY; her niece, Kalisha Parker; her sisters-in-law, Melinda Richmond of Bedford, KY, Lydia (Carl) Cowan of Bedford, KY, and Karen (Scott) Clark of Carrollton, KY; her brother-in-law, David Powell of Berry, KY; as well as many cousins who hold dear the memories of their time with her.

She is preceded in death by her father, Russell McDowell; mother, Kathryn Havley McDowell; husband, Wayne Douglas Richmond; sister, Callie McDowell Parker; and brothers, George, Larry, and Tony McDowell. Their memory will forever reside in the hearts of those who knew and loved Flora.

A visitation will be held on September 11, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home in Carrollton, KY. Following this, a memorial service will take place at the same location at 6:00 PM .

Flora Jean Richmond will be remembered not only for her professional achievements but for her unwavering love and support for her family and friends. Her legacy is one of kindness, creativity, and compassionate service to others. She will be deeply missed.
