Elizabeth Ann Yates

Elizabeth Ann Yates, beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Perry Park, Kentucky, on July 23, 2026. She was born on July 4, 1952, in Dayton, Kentucky, to Alben and Patricia Matthews Ruef.

Elizabeth’s life was defined by her unwavering kindness, generosity, and dedication to caring for others. From her earliest years, she exemplified the truest sense of a caretaker, always prioritizing the well-being and happiness of those around her. Her compassion touched everyone she knew, making a difference in countless lives.

Elizabeth found tremendous joy and fulfillment in her family. She is survived by two devoted sons, Michael Dooley and David (Janet) Dooley, as well as three beloved stepchildren, Jason (Sherri) Yates, Josh Yates, and Jodi (August) Bielinski. Elizabeth’s legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Jonah Yates, Joelman Yates, Jillian Yates, Jordan Yates, Justin Yates,  Brittany Tate,  Felicia Renee, Julius Bielinski, Max Bielinski and Marcus Bielinski. She also leaves behind her loving brothers, William (Donna) Ruef and Thomas Ruef, whose lives were enriched by her warmth and steady support.

She was predeceased by her dear parents, Alben Ruef and Patricia Matthews Ruef, her brother Bobby Ruef, her sister Mary Ruef, and her beloved husband, Jack Yates. The memories of those gone before her were always close to Elizabeth’s heart, and her love for them remained constant throughout her life.

Beyond her commitment to family and friends, Elizabeth possessed a vibrant spirit and zest for life. She delighted in crafting and knitting, creating beautiful and thoughtful pieces that will be treasured by those who received them. Fishing brought her peace and joy, connecting her with the natural world she so admired. She was also known for her wonderful cooking, which drew family and friends together to share good food and laughter. A simple pleasure she never outgrew was her fondness for TAB, which always brought a sparkle to her day.

Elizabeth leaves behind a legacy of compassion, creativity, and unwavering devotion. Her memory will live on in the hearts and minds of all who had the privilege of knowing her, and the values she embodied will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.

She will be deeply missed, but lovingly remembered, forever more.
