Mass Of Christian Burial for Dr. Jean Baglan, DMD, of Bowling Green, KY will be held Monday, July 15 at 10:30am at St. John’s Catholic Church, 517 Fifth Street in Carrollton, KY. Jeannie passed away in February, 2024, after a prolonged illness. She was 71. The family opted to delay holding services so there could be a time just for Jeannie without distraction. Born on October 16, 1952, in Louisville, KY, Jean was the daughter of Enos Hal Baglan and Mary Ann Hill Baglan Gentry and the step-daughter of EP Gentry, all of whom predeceased her. Jeannie grew up in Carrollton and is survived by her older sister Amy of Carrollton and her younger brother Charlie (Pam Hancock) of Frankfort. She graduated from Carroll County High School in 1970 where she was a diehard Panther fan and cheerleader. She then attended the University of Kentucky, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority (with Charlie's wife Pam), and the University of Louisville Dental School, graduating from both in 1978. For two years following her completion of dental school, Dr. Baglan shared an office with Dr. John Newcomb, DMD, in Carrollton before relocating her practice to Morgantown, KY. Jean loved the UK Wildcats, tennis, and Keeneland, and was an accomplished harpist, pianist and portrait painter. She was also an international sales representative for Nu Skin Enterprises. In her spare time, she raised pure-bred Chinchilla Persian cats and nurtured and adopted community cats. There was never an animal that she didn’t love, including her crocodilian George, her alligator Purse and her two dogs, Buzzard and Puppy. The family asks that, in lieu of food or flowers, any expressions of sympathy be made to Bowling Green/Warren County Humane Society. PO Box 1456, Bowling Green, Ky 42102 or online at https://www.bgshelterpets.com/in-honor-or-in-memory.html The church will open its doors at 9:30 for anyone wishing to pay their respects. The funeral mass is at 10:30 with burial immediately following at the Carrollton IOOF Cemetery.
