Debra Rue Roberts Yocum

Debra Rue Yocum, of Carrollton, Kentucky, passed away on November 9, 2023, at the age of 68. She was born on April 17, 1955, in Georgetown, Scott County, Kentucky.

She was born to Rudolph Roberts and Stella Louise Tapp Brumback. She was later welcomed into the loving arms of her stepfather, Charles Brumback. 

Debra had a fulfilling career as a hairdresser in the Carrollton Community for many years. She had also worked as a security officer at North American Stainless in Ghent, KY. 

Outside of her career, Debra had a variety of hobbies and interests that brought her immense joy. She had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening and tending to all types of flowers. The sight of hummingbirds fluttering around brought a smile to her face. She also had an affinity for animals of all kinds and cherished their presence in her life.  Debra had attended Carrollton Christian Church.

She is survived by her devoted husband, James E. Yocum of Carrollton, KY.  Debra also leaves behind a daughter, Jessica Howard, and a son, Chase Howard, both residing in Carrollton, KY.

In addition to her immediate family members, Debra is survived by her stepson Josh E. (Heather) Yocum of Carrollton, KY. The bonds she formed with her grandchildren were incredibly strong; she leaves behind six grandchildren who will forever carry her spirit with them.

Debra is also remembered by her brothers Steve Bowman of Lexington, KY, and Mark Roberts of Georgetown, KY. 

Among those mourning her loss is her mother-in-law, Donna Yocum of Carrollton, KY. She was preceded in death by her parents, and stepfather, her father-in-law, Clarence E. "Cookie" Yocum.

The services to honor and celebrate Debra's life will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home. The visitation will take place from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.  Interment will take place in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton, KY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the Carroll County Animal Shelter in care of the funeral home.

Debra Rue Yocum will forever be remembered for her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love for her family.
