David L. Weed, Jr.,77, a cherished member of his community, passed away peacefully at home on September 2024, while watching the Mecum Classic Car Auctions, a pastime he deeply enjoyed. Born on February 16, 1947, in Columbus, Bartholomew County, Indiana, David spent his life dedicated to his work, family, and passions.

David's career as an electrician flourished most recently at Weed's Electric, but his varied professional journey also included roles at Columbus Graphics, J and L Construction, Bud Coombs Heating and Cooling, Craigs Do-It Center in the Maintenance department, and Gaylor Electrical Contractors. His commitment to his craft was marked by a strong foundation; he was a proud graduate of Columbus High School and Electrical School.

In addition to his professional life, David served his country with honor. He was a dedicated veteran, having served in the United States Air Force and later with the United States Army 138th Infantry at the Carrollton Air National Guard Unit for over 20 years. His military service reflected his character, instilling in him the values of dedication and integrity.

David possessed a vibrant spirit and zest for life, which shone brightly through his numerous hobbies and interests. He was actively involved with the Carroll County Fair Board, contributing to various community events that brought people together. As a proud member of the Kentucky Kruizer's Car Club for many years, he enjoyed driving his beloved T-Bucket Roadster. David also had a deep appreciation for classical music, particularly the melodies from the 1950s to the 1970s, which resonated with him throughout his life.

His legacy will be carried on by his devoted wife, Emma Hall Weed of Carrollton, KY, and his beloved son, Brian D. (Lisa) Weed of Columbus, IN. David also leaves behind a large and loving family, including grandchildren Trenton Schmidt, David Zeitz, Cameron Weed, Craig Weed, Dustin Davidson, Braden Day, David Weed, Carson Weed, Katy Weed, Ta Lisa Weed, Alisa Weed, and great-grandchildren Zander Weed, Aiden Davidson, Nellie Davidson, Dax Day. He is further remembered by several cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a sister-in-law, Violet Anderson.

He is preceded in death by his parents, David Weed, Sr. and Dorothy Applegate Weed, a daughter, Nicole Weed, and a son, Jeffery Morgan. His absence will be felt by all who knew him, cherished not only for his accomplishments but for the love and joy he brought into their lives.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the visitation on Thursday, September 12, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 7:00 PM. Both services will be held at the U.S. National Guard Armory, located at 1828 KY-227, Carrollton, KY 41008.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the family in care of the funeral home.

The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
