David Miles

David M. Miles, 75, of Carrollton, KY, died on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, KY.

He was born on September 16, 1940 in Warsaw, Gallatin County, KY, the son of the late Estel and Dorothy Anderson Miles. He was currently serving as Carroll County Constable in District #2. He was the retired owner of Miller Taxi Service in Carrollton. He had served as Carroll County Jailor for over 20 years and had served as Carroll County School Bus Driver and Custodian for 12 years for the Carroll County Board of Education. He had also previously worked for General Electric in Louisville and Anamag Corporation in Carrollton. He was a member of the Sanders Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Norma J. Yancey Miles of Carrollton, KY; Three Daughters, Dorothy Ann(Walter Hearn) Miles of Warsaw, KY; Kimberly(Randy)Williamson of Warsaw, KY; and Sharla Thompson of Madison, IN; a son, Michael R. Miles of Columbus, OH; two brothers, Charles "Billy" Miles of Murray, KY; Terry Miles of Perry Park, KY; six sisters, Rita Booth of Louisville, KY; Patsy Miles of Carrollton, KY; Rebecca McBurney of Carrollton, KY; Anita Kelso of Carrollton, KY; Jackie Griffin of Pleasureville, KY; and Debbie Bickers of Lexington, KY; five grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, James Norbert Miles, Sr. and a sister, Betty Couch.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the Carroll County Relay for Life in care of the funeral home.


Visitation will be on Friday, August 19, 2016 from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.


Funeral Services will be on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenny French and Rev. Denny French officiating the service.


Burial will be in the Warsaw Cemetery in Warsaw, KY.
