The son of a sharecropper, Pat learned the value of hard work, humility, and perseverance at an early age while working in the fields alongside his father. He also spent many years helping his mother run Maples Boarding House. Those early lessons remained with him throughout his life and were evident in his strong character and servant’s heart.Pat spent his early years in Henry County before returning to Carrollton, where he lived most of his life. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, including service in Korea. On September 1, 1962, Pat married the love of his life, Louise Fath Giles. Together they built a home grounded in faith, commitment, and love. Pat was employed for many years with Kentucky Utilities, from which he later retired, always providing faithfully for his family. The defining moment of Pat’s life came on April 5, 1964, when he gave his heart and life to Jesus Christ. For nearly four decades, Pat labored faithfully for the Lord, leaving an enduring legacy of service, integrity, and obedience to God’s call. Pat also deeply loved his family and his friends. His family was one of God’s greatest blessings in his life, and he took great joy in being a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather and great-grandfather. Whether through conversations, faithful presence, or acts of service, Pat showed his love in ways that were genuine and enduring. His life was a living testimony of faith in action.Pat is survived by his loving bride, Louise Giles; his daughter, Becky Woods (Jeff); his son, Todd Giles (Emily); and his grandchildren, Daniel Woods, Angela Sinisterra-Woods (Sebastian), Hannah Giles, Elizabeth Wisher, and Sam Giles.
