Charlotte Ann Childs age,82, known affectionately as Sue to her loved ones, passed away at her home in Carrollton, Kentucky. She was born in St. Charles, Virginia on April 12, 1941.
Sue dedicated her life to caring for others, working as a caregiver for most of her days. Her nurturing and compassionate nature touched the lives of many.
In her leisure time, Sue found joy in various hobbies and interests. She had a passion for cooking, with a particular flair for baking cheesecakes and chicken and dumplings. Shopping at the Goodwill Store was also a favorite pastime of hers. Sue delighted in creating gingerbread houses with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, leaving behind cherished memories for generations to come.
Sue is survived by her three daughters, Robin Carol Childs, Rhonda Gail Childs, and Rita Ann (Greffrey) Wallace, all residing in Carrollton, KY. Additionally, she is survived by two sons: Billy Ray, Jr. (Robin Ann) of Sanders, KY; and Tracy Lee (Dana) Childs of Milton, KY.
Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Christie Jones, Courtnee Price, Kevin Bates, Ashli Childs, Justin McIntyre, Bryan McIntyre, and Jonathan McIntyre. Sue's great-grandchildren Jayden and Taylor Jones, Harlee and Rayleen Bates, Dawson Childs, Lottie Price, and Beau Price will carry her memory forward.
Sue was predeceased by her parents Clyde Haynes and Allie Marie Herron Haynes, her husband Billy Ray Childs Sr., sisters Wanda Jean Cowan and Thelma Jonell Randall; and brother Vernon "Buddy" Haynes.
Services to honor and celebrate Sue's life will be held at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home on Friday, April 5, 2024, at 1:00 PM. A visitation will take place on Friday, April 5th from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place in the Moffett Cemetery in Milton, KY.
