Mary Carole Dawn, 72, died suddenly on Sunday, July 31, 2022, at the Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, KY.
She was born on January 15, 1950, in Gallatin County, KY, the daughter of the late Florian L. Mumphrey and Florence Mae Seniors Mumphrey. She had formerly worked for the Dayton Walther Factory in Carrollton for 37 years as a machinist. After her retirement she went to work at the Carrollton Wal-Mart for the past six years as a sales associate. Over the years she had served as a sales associate for Tupperware Corporation, Mary Kay Cosmetics, and Avon Cosmetics. She was an active member of the Ghent 2nd Baptist Church in Ghent, KY, and was active in the church choir and served head of the kitchen committee. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed shopping in her spare time.
Mary’s life will be cherished by her husband, Thomas A. Dawn of Carrollton, KY, four sons, Lee M. (Bessie) Mumphrey of Sanders, KY, Michael T. (Ruby) Mumphrey of Cincinnati, OH, Lance A. Carr and his companion, Theresa Bruening of Erlanger, KY, and James A. (Laura) Dawn of New Brunswick, TX, her daughters, Renita Mitchell of Cincinnati, OH, and Phelsette (Kevin) Alexander of Killeen, TX, ,sister in-laws, Linda Mumphrey of Carrollton, KY, Laura Dawn of Mesquite, YX, and Lourice (Jimmy) Jackson of Desoto, TX, nineteen grandchildren and thirty two great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Donald Lee Mumphrey and Florian Earl Mumphrey, two sister in-laws, Mabel Dawn and Dorothy Ruth Mitchell.
