Walter Charles Archinal, 87, of Carrollton, KY, died on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton, KY, after a lengthy illness.

He was born on August 23, 1930 in Queens, Queens County, NY, the son of the late Walter John Archinal and Elsa Wilmot Straus Archinal.  He was a graduate of Sewanhaka High School in Floral Park, NY, where he enjoyed  Chemistry, Photography and Sports.  He attended Lehigh University for two and half years in Bethlehem, PA, where he was a member of the Alpha Chi Rho Fraternity at Lehigh University.  He was called to serve in the United States Army and after three years in the Army, was able to finish his degree at Adelphia University in Long Island, NY.  After making the journey to Carrollton, Kentucky he had worked for M & T Chemical Company in Carrollton and served as Manager of the Coatings Division.

He was a member of the Carrollton United Methodist Church.  He had served as President of the Carrollton Rotary Club and the former Carrollton Kiwanis International.  He had served for many years on the Carroll County Memorial Hospital Board.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Eleanor Conklin Archinal of Carrollton, KY, two daughters, Cynthia Ellen (Randy) O’Neal of Carrollton, KY, and Leigh Ann (Mark) Guth of Lexington, KY, a son, Walter Ross (Andrea) Archinal of Winston-Salem, NC, three grandchildren, Libby Guth, Piper and Alec Archinal.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has been chosen by the family.

Arrangements are entrusted with the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.
